TT - Weight

Thirteen reasons why I’ve gained weight lately.

Although I’m not necessarily overweight yet, I’m concerned about the extra 5-8 pounds that have come along in the last six months or so. I can’t seem to shake them off like I used to.

  1. I’ll soon be 34, my metabolism is changing, and I haven’t changed my eating habits.
  2. I hate to exercise and sweat.
  3. My gym membership that my husband gave me for Christmas expired, not that I used it much anyway (see #2).
  4. I eat ice cream as a late-night snack about 3 times a week.
  5. If chocolate is around, I eat it.
  6. I blog during any free time.
  7. Changed medication?
  8. My periods are so irregular–maybe I’m just bloated.
  9. If I want to exercise without children hanging on me, I have to do it early in the morning or late at night, the times I’m the most tired.
  10. It’s summer, too hot to cook, get fast food.
  11. We’ve had two birthdays in the family recently and I can’t let the leftover cake go to waste.
  12. I just bought a scale–maybe I’ve always weighed this much and didn’t know it.
  13. I hate to exercise. Oops, already said that. Any exercise ideas for a beginner?

Right there with you, especially on #2, 5, and 10. And honey, if you think 34 is bad, just wait till your metabolism slows down even more (I just started the 4th decade, ack!). :)

I think you should just enjoy life and eat whatever you want . . . that’s my motto! LOL! Hmmm . . . maybe that’s why I can’t fit into my favorite jeans anymore.

As I am reading this, I am eating Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and staring at my Gazelle exercise machine. LOL I have used it and dropped some weight, but right now I am on my period, so all bets are off!

I’m with you,I hate it too…difference is, i’m already overweight and now need to loose. It’s because I let all that extra cake go to waist! LOL Good luck. I played too. Stacie

I got myself a needy pup who requires daily walks. Walking is the best exercise you can do…that’s what THEY say right? ~lisa

me too, on almost all counts. plus, we have my husband’s high school reunion in 3 weeks (class of ~20 = mandatory attendance). I really need to lose about 8 lbs. Well, really 15, but 8 will keep me from needing a new wardrobe.

It’s the laundry, my friend. The laundry. There is nothing wrong with your body. You are merely shrinking your clothes every time you wash them.

Actually, I beleive your new scale isn’t properly calibrated. The old one was much more accurate. ;]

Reason #14: My sister Heidi moved in with me and all she does is eat junk food and watch tv and movies and i like to join her!

I keep saying that my excuse is that I just had a baby. Then he turned six months old and I realized that my fat might be here to stay unless I actually do something about it. Maybe I’ll join a gym…later…
